Risk Disclosure

Trading options and futures involves substantial risk of loss and is not appropriate for everyone. You can lose some, all, or more than your entire investment. Read this before you use the QuantGeeks console.

1. Nothing here is advice

QuantGeeks provides market data, analytics, visualizations, educational material and software tools. It is not investment, financial, legal or tax advice, and nothing on the Service — a level, a read, a signal, a chart, a guide, a message in chat — is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security, option, future or other instrument, or to follow any strategy. QuantGeeks is not a broker-dealer, futures commission merchant or investment adviser and does not hold, route or execute orders on your behalf [COUNSEL TO CONFIRM REGISTRATION STATUS]. Consult a licensed professional before trading.

2. Options trading can lose more than you put in

Options are leveraged, complex instruments that are not suitable for every investor. Buyers can lose the entire premium paid, often within hours. Sellers of uncovered options face potentially unlimited losses that can exceed the funds in the account, and may be required to meet margin calls at short notice. Read the Options Clearing Corporation's Characteristics and Risks of Standardized Options before trading and make sure you understand assignment, exercise, settlement and margin for the products you trade.

3. Same-day expiry (0DTE) is the highest-risk corner of the market

Contracts expiring the same day move violently, decay to zero by the close, and can gap through your levels in seconds on a headline or a single large order. Bid-ask spreads can widen dramatically, fills can be far from the quoted price, and liquidity can disappear when you need it most. The positioning that appears to pin price can unwind in minutes. Trade size small enough that a total loss is survivable.

4. Index products have their own mechanics

SPX options are cash-settled and European-style; SPY and QQQ options are American-style and physically delivered, which introduces early-assignment and pin risk around expiry and ex-dividend dates. Settlement values, exercise cut-offs and trading hours differ across products. Futures on these indexes carry daily mark-to-market and margin requirements that can force liquidation.

5. Dealer positioning is a model, not a fact

Gamma exposure, vanna, the primary node, the walls, the flip level and every other level in the console are estimates. They are computed from open interest and market data using assumptions about which side of the market dealers are on, how they hedge and when. Those assumptions are sometimes wrong. Open interest updates once a day and cannot see intraday changes; other market participants — not only dealers — move price. A level is a place to look, not a place price must respect.

6. Reads, signals and rules are opinions

The session read is an interpretation written from the data available at the time. Rules-based signals shown in the console — including any entry or exit a rule would take — are generated mechanically from those same estimates and are shown for information only. They do not account for your account size, risk tolerance, tax situation or existing positions. A rule that worked in one regime can fail in the next.

7. Data may be delayed, wrong or missing

Market data is sourced from third parties and delivered over the public internet. Quotes, ladders, charts and calendars may be delayed, stale, incomplete or incorrect, and the Service may be unavailable during periods of high volatility — exactly when you rely on it most. Always confirm prices and positions with your broker before acting. QuantGeeks is not liable for losses caused by data errors or outages.

8. Replay, backtests and hypothetical results

Replaying a session or reviewing how a rule would have behaved shows hypothetical, not actual, results. Hypothetical performance has inherent limitations: it is prepared with the benefit of hindsight, does not reflect real fills, slippage, commissions, fees, liquidity or the effect of your own orders on the market, and does not involve financial risk. No representation is made that any account will or is likely to achieve results similar to those shown. Past performance, real or simulated, does not indicate future results.

9. Educational content and community chat

Guides, videos and other educational material are general in nature. Member chat contains the unverified opinions of other members, who are not employees or agents of QuantGeeks and may hold positions in the instruments they discuss. Nothing posted in chat is endorsed by QuantGeeks. Do not treat any member's trade as a recommendation.

10. Technology and execution risk

The console runs in your browser and depends on your hardware, network and third-party services. Software has bugs. Screens freeze, connections drop, layouts fail to load. If you cannot see the market, you can still be in it — keep an independent way to view and manage positions with your broker at all times.

11. Volatility, gaps and market events

Markets can gap at the open, halt intraday, and move beyond any level on economic releases, earnings, geopolitical events or exchange malfunctions. Stop orders do not guarantee an exit price. Overnight and pre-market risk cannot be managed with intraday tools.

12. Taxes, regulation and eligibility

Trading results may have tax consequences, including different treatment for index options and equity options in your jurisdiction. Regulations, product availability and trading hours vary by country and broker. You are responsible for confirming that you are permitted to trade the products you choose and for reporting your results.

13. Your responsibility

You alone decide whether, when, how much and at what price to trade. QuantGeeks does not know your financial situation and cannot judge whether any trade is suitable for you. Never trade with money you cannot afford to lose, never trade a size you cannot hold through a move against you, and never rely on a single tool — including this one — to make a decision.

14. Acknowledgement

By using the Service you confirm that you have read and understood this disclosure, that you accept full responsibility for your trading, and that QuantGeeks, its members, employees and contractors bear no liability for any trading loss you incur. Questions: [email protected].
